Born in Ningbo, China, Chen Fen began painting in 1974. He explored romanticism, expressionism and surrealism in different stages before reaching his current style of lyric imagery.
This rich and powerful fusion of Oriental and Western concepts and styles places special emphasis on textural effects achieved with a great variety of materials. Chen's robust works express his observations of the universe, nature and life.
